Summer off. Good number of sick days. Good health insurance but few choices of health care in small town.
Not bad of you are young, single and have no children. Then its only about $150 a month. If you add a spouse or a dependant, you have to pay over $1000 a month to have them covered. Its beyond ridiculous. No one that works for the district has children. They can't afford to work for them (unless their spouse can cover the kids).
Basic pay is very low even by already low AZ standards. Best perk is we work a four day workweek!
They offer insurance, but the free insurance is a really high deductible and should only be used if you know you're never going to be sick. The ASRS contributes a lot, which is awesome. Insurance also has the option for Health Savings Accounts.
The school district offers a really good benefits package for teachers
It actually has gotten worse with time.
