KVH Employment Benefits
KVH offers comprehensive health plans in Rhode Island and Illinois with an extensive Provider Network. Contributions are deducted from payroll on a pre-tax basis.
The KVH dental plan provides 100% preventive dental care which includes two cleanings and checkups per year. Basic dental procedures are covered at 80% and major procedures at 50% after the payment of a $50 deductible. All servies have a maximum annual benefit amount of $1,250. Orthodontics is available for dependent children under the age of 19 up to a maximum lifetime amount of $1,000. Contributions are deducted from payroll on a pre-tax basis.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
KVH offers a pre-tax flexible spending account for medical expenses not covered by the health plan up to an annual maximum of $2,550. Dependent care is offered up to an annual maximum of $5,000.
KVH offers a voluntary employee paid vision program which covers eye exams, eyeglasses, contact lenses, and laser vision correction.
KVH pays the entire of of a 1X annual salary group life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance plan for employees from $25,000 to a maximum of $100,000.
Long Term Disability Insurance
To assist employees during a long period of disability, KVH provides long term disability insurance at no cost to employees.
Paid Time Off
KVH provides employees with vacation time based on years of service. Ten major holidays, sick time, and personal time are offered as well.
Employees can further their education by attending pre-approved courses relating to their position. After receiving a "B" or better in a course, they will be reimbursed at 100% for tuiton and book expenses. There is an annual cap for reimbursements.

401(K) Savings Plan
KVH offers its employees both a pretax 401(K) plan and a post-tax Roth 401(K) plan with a company match of $.50 on the dollar up to a maximum deferral of 6%.

The only thing I did see on the time I was working on KVH was at least a monthly or quarterly bonus as usual in any other company.
Benefit package is in line with other companies. Generous paid time off coupled with holidays gives us plenty of days to enjoy a work life balance. The 401k was recently increased and this year all employees received a profit sharing bonus.
