They provide a decent match (no one has to “give you anything” so any free money is a blessing) and they force you to start thinking about saving before you even begin working. It is a good system. They also provide a structured system for you to annually increase your savings.
The 401k plan at Kennedy Krieger allows you to put away the maximum amount allowed by government law but does not match the entire amount you save.
The 401k was fine except the employer matching only paid out to employees staying with KKI for 2 years or more.

It's very low maintenance and they match and contribute a portion of their own.
The employee will match whatever percentage contribution that you make i.e. If you save 3% on each pay check, they will submit 3%. This number is adjustable or automatic (your choice up to 6% per paycheck matched).
Plan is done through Fidelity
They match up to 6% after you've worked a certain amount of years.
