Health insurance is really good, but the costs keep going up each year. The retirement used to be solid until the state of KY almost bankrupted it. So, if you don't have to take the KY retirement (you're not coming from city, county, state gov't or teacher), then don't! Pick one of the other options. One of the best things about working here is the 2-week institutional closing at the end of the year. On top of that, you earn sick and vacation time at a good rate.
Medical Insurance is high, Life insurance has high cost/low coverage and if there is a problem during annual enrolment, your coverage cannot be corrected until the next year, even if it is the fault of the system.
Vacation and paid time off is wonderful. 12 sick days earned per year, plus two weeks off at Christmas on top of earned vacation time.
Paid time off is the best and insurance is provided at a low price.
I will have the summer off. There are lots of holidays off that PTO is not needed.
Affordable health plans that mirror the state government plans. 403(b) matching at 200%. Credit to use towards your health or dental premiums if you are enrolling in single coverage.
The benefits package are amazing. I have a $0.00 copay!
Great benefits and time off.
Excellent retirement plan: 5% employee contribution is matched by KCTCS at 10%. Great vacation/sick time benefits. Two-week paid holiday time in December for institutional closing. Tuition waiver at any Kentucky public University for employees, plus 6 hours per spouse/dependent per semester at any KCTCS college.
Being part time i do not get any kind of traditional benefits. But, they are super flexible with my schedule. I can basically pick what hours i want to work each week. This helps because i can keep my current job should another full time one come available, or if i need to change my schedule to take care of my kid during the day time or on certain days.
