Time management between research work and academic work
During my 11 years of employment, I've had to take a few medical leaves from work. My supervisor has always been caring, understanding, and extremely helpful in that process. I've always been welcomed back to my position once I was medically cleared to work. Also, my supervisor always takes into account my physical limitations due to my medical problems in scheduling me. I.E. the distance in walking between classes, the duration of the class, and scheduling me only in buildings with elevators as I'm unable to walk upstairs or downstairs etc.
LSU work environment is very flexible
Most jobs are very set with 8 am - 4:30 schedule
Not really an option for reduced hours or flexible hours. You must work your set 8 hour schedule.
One of the best things about working here is that there is room for work flexibility in hours.
Based on department manager flexibility
Working environment is very flexible and laid back as long as your job is taken care of.
Ususally I can take off during the day, if needed, and make up hours later. Sometimes if I work many, many hours over 40 I can take off early other days.
Many construction on camp. Not current proper gym. Not variable different courses in each semester from Electrical Engineering department.
