The salary benefits depends on the funding issued to the department.
better than most state agencies, but lacks choices in health insurance
Fantastic time off and health benefits!
Good benefits since it is a state job
The best thing about the benefits package at LSU is tuition deduction.
Best benefits I have received from an employer and I have worked for Fortune 500 companies.
The best thing is the hourly pay, and how it's set up that if a student cancels our services with less than a 24-hour notice, we are still paid at our regular rate. Time off is somewhat flexible, if notice is given with sufficient time to find a sub for your schedule. The worst thing is not having benefits like a 401K or the option of having health insurance- I'm considered a transient employee, and so that is how employment as a transient with LSU is setup.
LSU provides an excellent benefits package, including high quality medical insurance (which the state pays for >50% of the premiums), dental, vision, and so on. LSU also contributes fairly to the employee's retirement choice. There are ~14 state holidays and staff accumulate sick and annual leave at a reasonable rate.
Lsu first health insurance is super
I love the holidays we had at LSUS.
