Good benefit IF you can balance the workload and actually take time off. MANY colleagues lost vacation time because they just could not leave - a lot of short-staffed centers and crises to manage.
Unless you’re a director, you get 8 days paid time off until you’ve been there 5 years or more. If you’re salaried that’s a little over a week so you either get to take one vacation or you take one day off every month and a half.
You can get time off if requested 2 weeks in advance and enough staff. Unpaid if you have no vacation time. And no bearevement pay if you are part time.
There PTO is so confusing. I asked the director and she's no help. No one really understands how it works.
