Typical for the big contractor companies.

Vanguard offered reasonable fees. Leidos offered standard match

The company gives you 2% whether you participate in the 401K or not. They also match up to 6%. They used to give stock, but not now that I can tell.

Standard plans offered with 3% matching

401K plan was through Vanguard. Plan did well, however you do not fully vest until 5 years, which is a very long time in the contracting industry

    Employer matching has decreased recently.

You basically are not vested on anything and if you leave in the year you lose about half of the company match for that year if you are lucky to be vested.

Takes 5 years to be fully vested. The 5% matching is weird because you get 3% that year and then 2% given in the next year. Not as competitive as other plans with other companies
