The company shuts down the week of 4th of July along with the week between Xmas and New Year's. That, plus unlimited vacation is really nice!

The benefits at LinkedIn are amazing and anyone considering LinkedIn as an employer should weigh the benefits heavily (and not just compensation). In NYC & SF, LinkedIn might not pay as highly as other companies will offer, but the benefits and quality of life are almost unparalleled. 100% Medical & Dental, unlimited vacation (for salaried employees), free food in the office, a wellness spending account, InDays once a month, 401k matching, and on and on and on. And then of course there's the office environments which have a strong, "work hard, play hard" mindset. Maybe they're not for everyone, but you'll be hard pressed to find better working conditions and friendlier people.
