    I have no personal experience but I have heard many times that you have to work 20-30 years before your retirement could be worth it. Maybe this is normal. I do not know.

    As a retiree of Loudoun County Public Schools, I am fortunate that the school system is a part of the Virginia State Retirement Program and Loudoun allows retirees to stay on their current health insurance at the same rates as current employees.
