For employees and eligible dependents, available health plans include Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) and Point-of Service (POS) plans.
Health insurance is very expensive (~350/month for single) but pretty good - no deductible and tiny co-pays.
3 options to chose from
There are two options: One can use the on-campus medical facility, which is very good, or one can also go to any external providers of their choosing. If chosen, the external choices are very generous.
Offers two options, 1 through blue cross blue shield, 1 through MIT. Seems expensive though.
There are a couple of plans to choose from!
I have never used the health insurance from MIT, but at one time they had a benefit where employees could go to the onsite doctor for free. This benefit no longer exists.
You can choose between MIT Traditional and MIT Choice.
low out of pocket expense for traditional HMO
I'm not sure if fertility assistance is offered, and it would be great if it were. Parental leave could also be improved.
You can choose between two, both of which are Blue Cross programs, and both of which give access to the MIT medical center and the MIT Lincoln Laboratory health and fitness center (which includes primary care physicians and a gym)
