    The benefits package is quite generous. Time off is grouped together for sick time, vacation time and holiday time. You earn more PTO the longer you work there.

    The problem with the benefit program at Maine Medical Center is that they say they offer them but when you go to use them " whoops, didn't we tell you, that's been gone for 2 years1". You should read your your paperwork". For instance they say there is money for professional development. Nope, not this year. or next year either. There is no gym, day care, legal help, employment assistance if they get rid of your job, but they say there is, no stock options, or anything that staff have been asking for years- just what makes Management richer. . You do not get to roll over your PTO from year to year as one poster said, they suggest you cash it out. or you lose it. And for the people who say they have positive regard for Rich Peterson? Have you actually ever met the man? Have you seen him in your work area. My health benefits cost me $360 a pay check or $720 month- you call that a benefit? And by the way they don't give you time off , you have to work for it and then you get to take a few hours here and there when no one in the department has asked for it off, if the department has enough coverage, if its not summer or around holidays, if someone with more seniority doesn't want the time and God forbid Don't ask for 2 weeks off , even though you may have that time to take , you have to realize that you are asking for .... sounded like an act of God or something.... I'm not sure , I never stayed around to find out. what ever it was , it didn't sound good.
