You do get a discount at other Mandarin Oriental properties, however, there are only a few in the U.S. and many have closed in recent years with no sign of new properties opening in the U.S. It is also very difficult to get the discounted rate, they make you jump through hoops. You must contact the property that you want to stay at to see if they can give you a discounted rate, after much deliberation from them, you must then complete a form that you must get signed by your HR manager and your General Manager who must approve that they will allow you to stay there, IN YOUR FREE TIME! And if you have to take time off for it, you must get that time approved by your manager. This process can honestly take weeks, it's insane, meanwhile you lost out on a cheap flight and therefore changed your mind and feel guilty for then having to cancel your stay. Or you booked your flight and lose money on it because your manager denies you the time off after all is said and done. Such a ridiculous process. Companies like Hilton and Marriott make it so much easier for you to take advantage of using your discount at sister properties, no permission needed by anyone.
Very competitive among other companies
