Former Counter Staff in Cambridge, MA, Massachusetts
Pros: Employees are allowed to eat day old pastries and drink tea and coffee free of charge. 30 minute breaks are without pay, however, employees are provided a breakfast/lunch item to consume. Cons: There is no health insurance or paid time off. If the baker is sick (ie. cold/flu during Thanksgiving) they are still expected to come in and work over 40 hours without overtime pay or medical care - this is bad for the employees AND the customers!
