One of the best 401k I have ever been a part of with a company
The medical, vision and dental insurances have few different packages that could be choose by the employee. The 401K is 3% Company match after waiting period for enrollment. There are few packages for life insurance covering the employee, spouse an kids that could be choose separated and for few different ammounts
Great benefits package if you are looking for that in a company. I did find the 401k to be a financial boon. The medical and dental were a bit pricey, but the coverage they provide is quite good.
profit sharing 401k was very good, health benefits were also very good.
Best thing is the immediate availability of benefits available to the associate. Worst thing is the "punishment" of using sick days in your first year as a driver.

McLane offers health care benefits (as required by law)through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas . At McLane you do not get vacation at all during the first year and you will have to work every single holiday except Christmas. This is for all divisions of McLane, Foodservice, Grocery, etc. You will have to wait for 3 months to contribute to the 401k. They do not match the 401k at all during your 1st year, and it has a 5 year vesting period. They are very strict about time off, there is a point system that will be recorded and held against you whenever possible. You will need to work about 70+ hours per week and people don't even take breaks or lunch, they nibble on snacks at their desks terrified to stop working for a few seconds because they will be punished or have to stay even longer. Also they rarely ever hire from within because the current employees don't want to have to work even more hours. Most people working there quit this job a long time ago but they don't even know it, their bodies keep showing up every day but there is really no one there, they are like zombies. The company is filled with people who really need money and are too afraid to quit. People please take my advice, this is not a company that cares about people. The plan is to hire people and work them as much as possible, they expect a lot of people to quit. That is why they do not offer certain benefits during the first year. The turn over rate is huge and the company as a whole is TOXIC. People are on edge everyday because of the work environment. I have seen at least 4 teammates crying because of the stress and toxic environment. Drivers are treated like garbage and if they ever get hurt, look out, they are the scum of the earth and it is always a "preventable" accident and the driver will be fired. Even for pulling a muscle or getting a scratch. They are only looking out for themselves and wonder why they can't keep good drivers. If you are a solid human being with a soul, if you are a positive person in the least bit, do not, I repeat do not think about coming to McLane. You will loose your soul. They instructed us as managers to only record the negative actions of employees and to file those away in order to throw them into the faces of other teammates later. The company is filled with lies. If you have an interview cancel it now. I am not joking at all people. Consider yourself warned if you have read this post. PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE: DO NOT ACCEPT A JOB AT ANY MCLANE COMPANY. Don't accept a job in any position, driver, admin, picker, manager, etc. It does not matter what city you are in, you will regret it. So yes they have benefits but every company with 50+ employees are required to have these things, it's nothing special. You won't have the time to even go to the doctors office, so it's pointless. Again this is for all areas of the country.
