good options and multiple choices
Health insurance is very convenient at the Medical College of Wisconsin because they offer employees reduced cost of their virtual/online healthcare services.
Used to provide great insurance but overtime and as a result of health reform, it has been substantially reduced. However, it still remains very competitive when compared to private companies. 401K provides a great employer match. It's a real bonus of working at MCW.
You cannot beat their coverage unless you work for the government. Since MCW and the surrounding hospitals are affiliated, you can find a doctor anywhere and most visits are covered.
Decent premiums, deductible, and coinsurance but gets worse each year due to current federal policies (was considered a "Cadillac plan")
The deductible is fairly low, but there is a deductible for regular office visits though.
Could be better, could be worse.
While currently not as great as it was previosly, full coverage with very little deductable, the current health insurance is still better than competition.
I'm shocked that health insurance for a Medical College was so average. High deductible even on the low-deductible plan and HIGH monthly premiums (over $400/month for just my husband and myself).
Expensive, but coverage is very good.
