Not amazing but still really good. 401k benefits aren't that great. The only thing that gives it a 4 instead of a 5 is that they are one of the few companies that still offers a pension plan. You do have to stay there longer than 7 years to start earning the early stages. There is a high turnover rate in the company & I think the pension plan is a way to try to keep people there longer. The company really likes to teach you in fields outside your role so that they can keep the knowledge within the company. They'd rather lose an R&D Engineer to the Medtronic QA team for one of their open positions than lose that engineer to another company. Thus having them to hire TWO people from outside the company to fill those roles instead of just losing one person to one role. Just 4 months into my job & I do feel that if in two years I am getting sick of the politics of my role there will likely be three to four other roles within the company I would be able to join another field that I have assisted on my projects.

The health insurance is getting worse every year. You seem to pay more and get less.

The worst thing about the benefits was the deductible and how much you had to pay out of each check.
