Company has great benefits. 401k, pension plan, healthcare plan
Merck offers many benefits for its employees: competitive medical insurance, matching 401k, and pension. The vacation policy is comparable to the industry standard. There are other additional benefits which each of the individual campuses offer: company store, on-side day care, dry cleaning, bike share program, fitness center, and other career development opportunites.
Top of the line benefits, well worth it.
Best was the health coverage and bonus. Worse was the lack of support for remote work. If it snowed too much to get into the office you had to take a day off... or more likely, take avacationm day and still stay glued to your computer.
One of the few companies that still has a pension and great healthcare
Great benefits and pension plan
The 401K and legacy pension are outstanding
I am a contractor and many benefits are not given to contractors. For the employers, there are many benefits.
The worst is the high deductible for health benefits. Other than that, most other benefits are fairly competitive.
Benefits at Merck are average. Be wary of the wording. They (somewhat insultingly) advertise their 401k matching like so: "$0.75 for every $1, up to 6%. Guess what. That's 4.5%. The commuting compensation (paying for monthly passes for the bus or train) may not get fully covered depending on your commute length.
