    Hospital Industry seems the be the type of industry where you have no time off until you earn it first. Plus they make you follow the same type of plan as a nursing staff instead of an IT staff.

    Paid time off accumulates but it is difficult to take because of the work.

    Mercy offers fair PTO benefits and you accrue PTO even on days you take off, which is a very nice benefit compared to other health care facilities.

    There is NO vacation. If you only want to take a half day, you cannot. You have to take a full day and if you ave an emergency and you have no PTO, you are written up.

    Paid time off or PTO is essentially vacation. Usually one starts with four weeks of PTO and then builds more depending on full time or part time.
