    Understandably, you can not take for 8 weeks upon start of employment due to training. Otherwise you get over 18 days PTO your 1st year plus holidays!

    PTO is accrued with each paycheck and no one judges you for taking time off.

    The number of days is not bad, but I had to be very careful to keep some available. You have to bank a few for emergencies, because you get no sick days and if FMLA doesn't help you, you can forget caring for relatives. In the end there is very little chance of going on a long trip. Oh, and there are no HR provided mandatory directions to managers, so you depend on how your manager feels on the day that you ask for time off.
