Like anywhere, the full time people get the best benefits (health insurance, paid holidays, paid sick time, personal days, and vacation, etc. However, there are a lot of awesome perks for part timers too, including low cost vision and dental insurance, 30% sale and reg priced items, etc. One of the most widely neglected benefits is the Michaels Perks at Work website: https://www.perksatwork.com/login/index/o/654. As a Michaels employee, you can get discounts on movie tickets, SixFlag passes, cell phone plans, car insurance plans, etc! It's awesome, but very few people take advantage.
As a part time employee there were no benefits. There were some weeks during the holidays that I would work 35-38 hours a week so just below being full time.
I am a cashier, at 20 hours a week. There is no benefits package. There are the occasional competition to win a gift card for reaching whatever goal management has set, and the 30% for regular and sale items, and the 65% off for custom framing employee discounts.
there are no benefits here
For part time employees, you work your initial hours and you are offered dental and vision benefits which for the cost is about what you would pay if you visited them yourself and paid out of pocket. Medical is not offered to part time employees. EAP, Michaels perks, and 401K are available. Vacation and time off is only requested off as non paid due to being parttime.
I didnt recieve any of the benefits because I was only a part time worker and the only thing I herd was that full time employees get special pay on holidays
Only decent perk is the Employee Discount. Management would often bring in popsicles, but that was usually an apology for the A/C not working properly.
You got 30% discount on your total transaction. If you worked full time you were given vacation days, but part time just had to submit their time off to be accepted.
i don't have benefits at michaels because I'm part time
Michaels benefits suck! I worked seven days a week when the second person in my position quit and they still refused to hire me full-time and I still received no benefits. I worked more than 40 hour weeks and they played with my check saying they forgot hours. They just didn't want to get in trouble for overworking employees. This is just a seasonal job someone would take. Don't even think about this job as a career.
