There is a matching 401K retirement program which is what I like the best. The worst thing is the healthcare packages because what is typical with mail contractors is that you pay most of the monthly premium. Because I'm scheduled under 30 hours per week in my contract run however, I don't have to accept the company insurance plans. I'm also a veteran, so even if I wasn't covered under my wife's plan, which I am, I could receive VA health care instead.
There are lawsuits against the company right now for not putting the money they receive from the post office into our 401k accounts, and I was working overtime when the cutoff for the health insurance hit. I got the insurance because of child support and if they were doing their job, yes, the benefits would be fantastic and worth it to stay here.
Insurance is to expensive. Not affordable for single and definitely not affordable for a family.
