Benefits package is pretty solid. Good amount of vacation and sick leave plus the museum tends to be very flexible if you have any time of surprise issues! Health insurance is a little pricey and has been going up. Vision is great. Dental not perfect but good as well. Pay is often well below market value.
There is ample time off. Also another nice benefit is the museum membership all of the perks that go with it.
Reciprocal free museum entrance to museums around the area is awesome
100% retirement contribution match up to 6% of salary is a huge perk. Also 21+ PTO days and 10 Sick Days per year for ft staff. Insurance is pretty typical.
I just contacted Fidelity about a forfeiture of some of my retirement funds. The amount that MoS had contributed over my 1.5 years there (~30% of my total MoS retirement funds, though only about $1,000) was taken back by the museum because I wan't an employee for 5 years. Wish I had known that (probably in fine print)... Otherwise, the benefits that don't relate to $$$ are great. Parking, discounts, health insurance, reciprocity, and other are terrific. (note: posted "Last Year at Employer" only goes back to 2014. I left a few years before then.)
The vacation/time off at the Museum of Science is very generous. I always have extra days to roll over at the end of the calendar year.
Many holidays off, and a great culture overall
Wonderful parking and museum access!
For some of the lower paying jobs it can be a bit tricky to gage if the health plan is worth it but they offer options for full and part time employees which is great.
Great Vacation, sick and personal time. Decent Insurance rates. Not terrific parental/maternity leave (only paid through short term disability)
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
