NAPA offers many employee discounts including a parts discount.
It used to be 10% over cost, they changed it a few years ago. It was never explained very well what the new discount was, but from my understanding it is what Jobbers (independently owned Napa stores) pay for their parts.
Employee Discount is Fair. The employee pays 10% above cost.
It used to be 10% above cost, but now it's about 20-30% above cost.
THey used to offer the Corporate employees a great discount, but revised it a couple years back. Now you get a good deal on some items but others you can buy locally cheaper.
Discounts used to be 10 percent above cost but now they are jobber pricing so much less. And you are only allowed to purchase no more then 300 dollars per month.
Same as what jobbers pay
The best thing about the discount was the rate, 10% over-cost. That means if a spark plug costs a walk in customer $11.24 but the store gets it for $6.00, employee cost is only $6.60. because 6.00 x 1.10 = 6.60. That being said... I've seen them give discounts to customers of theirs that is pretty darn close to that one. So you could work for one of their customers and get a pretty darn great discount too! For instance, a dealership.
Great prices on car parts!
Store cost + 10%
Their parts are overpriced, so the discount brings them to more competitive pricing. The mainly sell to mechanic at a high discount, so you will pay a % over what they say is cost. I found some prices actually lower than the discount, but not by much. I would not work here for just the discount.
