Great insurance, very generous vacation days, and solid 403b.

An amazing amount of time off per year -- every major (and most minor!) holiday, tons of sick days, a lot of paternity/maternity leave, and 3 - 6 weeks of vacation. It's nearly European! Oustanding health benefits, and a very good pension plan as well (403b, similar to 401k), though I've heard rumors that it has changed since I left.

NRDC's benefits package is quite generous compared to other ENGOs. Retirement contributions don't require a match, and increase over time, starting with 7% of salary in years 1-4 and increasing to 14% of salary after 15 years. Health care, dental care and vision are offered, as is life insurance at 3x annual salary, Vacation accrues, and starts at 3 weeks/year. Maternity leave is also graduated according to time with NRDC. Up until three years, you get 2 weeks paid time off, between three years and eight years, you get an additional week per year, up to a maximum of 8 weeks paid. They also allow you to use your sick time and vacation time, after which short-term disability kicks in (if applicable). Total maternity leave time is at the supervisors discretion, but 3-4 months was typically average.

Great 403(b) [equivalent to a 401(k) for private corporations]. Good healthcare also.
