A great thing to work for NCI as a post-doctoral fellow is that they provide good health insurance and free metro commute.
CRTA Postdoctoral Fellowship: -Paid health insurance has had incredible coverage, but is declining somewhat -Vision and dental coverage are not included but are available to purchase -Transhare benefits for public transit, free parking for those who drive -No retirement benefits for fellows -Leave procedures vary by type of fellowship and at the discretion of supervisors -Optional telework or alternate work schedules in some cases
Fellows receive excellent health insurance with no fellow contribution to the premium, including for spouses and children. Maternity and paternity are paid for 8 weeks. Annual leave varies by program, generally 10-13 days.
In general, it is a good place to work.
Very good health insurance for fellows. Poor vision and dental. No retirement options or FSA options.
stable salary. Only goes up. But it increases very slow, 2-3% each year.
health insurance is pretty good. Usually 10 dollar co-pay.

As a fellow I did not have benefits outside of comprehensive health insurance.
There are no retirement benefits given to postdocs, but the medical benefits are top notch.
