Nobody beats the government for paid time off. Every federal holiday, shortened days (excused absence) before holidays, and various types of Leave for maternity, professional, or judicial matters to name a few.

Minimal vacation, takes a long time to accrue. Not as good as what I have seen in the private sector

Nothing bad about the vacation and paid time off. 14 days per years for new hires going up to 30 days based upon amount of time earned for each pay period worked. Max accrual occurs at 15 year mark.

The vacation is okay. It would be great to earn more.

Best is that you can earn up to 8 hrs per pay period of annual leave. Worst is that with crisis work sometimes its unable to be used when I want to use it
