Vacation policy is very good
Two weeks at hiring and the extra week off at Christmas
Vacation time provided is average, but the PTO/sick days are very generous, but up to your manager.
Navistar had a plant shut down in December around Christmas to New Year. This felt like bonus vacation time in addition to your negotiated weeks.
Winter Shut Down is a nice break, though many people must work during shut down. Vacation time is reasonable after you've been there a at least 5 years, but those starting out get two weeks or less.
full paid vacation time is a value added
Excellent Xmas holiday tme-off policy - all companies should do the same.
On top of the 14 paid Holiday vacation days given each year, employees receive additional paid vacation based on tenure. When I hired in, I had 2 weeks. After 4 years with the company, I am up to 3 weeks worth of additional paid time off. Only drawback is that you are not able to roll it over year to year.
