“Some help is better than no help. It is very a standard package most companies can offer.”
Great health insurance and 401K!
Company social events were planned throughout the year.
Pros: good vacation accrual, options for healthcare plans, 401k matching, free fitness classes near you. Cons: healthcare plans lack reproductive assistance. As the company promotes a women in science environment you’d hope to see this benefit be made available as 1in 8 women experience infertility.
The best thing about the benefits has to be low-cost insurance. I am young and do not go to the hospital often, so choosing my level of coverage is a plus. One of the new perks is having access to a network called PeerFit, which allows us to sign up for gym memberships or classes free of charge (free monthly credits are given to use). There is free coffee and tea, but free snacks are reserved for special occasions. We seldom get holidays off, but they are time and a half if you do come in. Negative is only having three sick days that do not roll over.
In the middle of the pack for our industry
The best thing is the ESPP
Pro: health insurance, 401k, wellness programs, paid time off accumulates Con: not much sick time offered for the whole year, does not roll over
Only 6 holidays with 1 floating holiday. However, you are expected to work on Holidays so you rarely ever get them off without having to request them--the good thing is you get 1.5X your hourly rate plus holiday pay for working on a scheduled holiday. For the holiday season (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day) you are expected to work 2 out of the 3 holidays.
I am too new at the company to really rate the benefits, but there are many so if you like you benefits this place has them.
Health insurance is pretty good, 401k plan is good, tuition reimbursement is great. PTO is not great compared to other companies i've worked at, especially considering how few holdiays they get.
