    There are not benefits as far as health insurance, 401k, etc. However, we make enough in commission to pay for an outside party to assist us with these things.

    As an Independent Contractor, you are not offered any benefits such as health insurance, dental, vision, 401K or anything. There is no set vacation time either, it is up to your manager and how the feel that day whether you'll be allowed to take time off or not. You could get three weeks, or you could get none.

    The total compensation packages (including benefits, perks, time off etc.) that New Home Star offers its people is very good and competitive (and continues to get even better and more robust YOY). On top of NHS's unparalleled company culture, they offer a 401(k) with company match and profit sharing, BCBS health insurance plans (PPOs and HSA option) plus dental, vision and life insurance with company contribution, paid Fidelity retirement incentive programs and a generous vacation, volunteer time off and PTO policy to name a few. Additionally, they make sure you are taken care of on your birthday and work anniversaries, pay for your professional development courses/training and host a lot of pretty incredible company-wide outings, events and parties in destinations like Cancun Mexico in 2017, for example. Have I mentioned company culture yet? Do note that the total compensation package (inc. some benefits) can differ depending on the type of position you hold within the company. This is by design and allows each of our people to maximize their income potential and career opportunities. All positions fall within one of two general categories: 1. Sales Positions: These are uncapped and very highly compensated roles within the real estate industry where our team members receive and experience company benefits as independent contractors. The compensation afforded to these positions more than covers the costs associated with obtaining benefits and the freedom/flexibility to choose just about any health plan or retirement vehicle you can imagine, plus some, in addition to the other perks I listed above. 2. Full-Time Management/Corporate Support Staff: These positions are your traditional salaried W2 setup with the robust insurance and retirement benefit described above along with all of the perks.

    Currently I am offered the Silver package from BCBS that includes dental insurance. There is a one hour flex start/leave every day, with four work from home days every quarter. Most of the Holidays are off and compensated. Two weeks paid vacation after six months. Free snacks/coffee. Ping pong table, dart board, and basketball hoop in the office to unwind.
