Amazing benefits. If you work 24+ hours, you qualify for dental, medical, etc.
Health and dental are awesome. HSA also available and a volunteering program.
The good: NSM offers reduced Pet Insurance, free frames once every 2 years I believe, 20% off Orca card, 20% off product, they give you $30 to spend on food for your birthday and are really good about reimbursing their employees for work related travel and whatnot, you get 8 hours of paid volunteer time every year (you work with your manager to attend a Lend A Hand for 8 hours instead of being in the store and are compensated like normal), HSA/FSA. The bad: In order to use any of your accrued Payed Sick Time, you must also use the same amount of Payed Time Off. So if you get really sick but you've used all your PTO, you can't use any of your PST and must still come in to work. They don't do much to accommodate your needs in regards to your schedule: you're expected to work absolutely whatever the schedule says and have multiple places where the schedule is posted and so often, all of the copies of the schedule don't match and folks end up getting points (after you've accrued 10 points, your employment is terminated).
Benefits are okay, they were better 5 years ago. But, they take A LOT out of your paycheck, so it almost seems not worth it.
Blue slip program is interesting. Before the food that is near expiry gets donated, employees can take what they like.
The coverage is about as good as it gets with Blue Cross Blue Shield, and the vision and dental options.
Benefits are great and wages are slightly above average
The 20% product discount for in store purchase helps with groceries bills, and includes wellness products, bulk foods, floral dept., deli foods, grab&go foods. The health benefits include chiropractic care, acupuncture, massage, ND and MD, plus dental. Families, dependents, spouse and significant other are covered.
They offer great benefits and to be considered you don't have to work a huge amount of hours , which is great because more people get the chance to get benefits. Get paid time of and you can use your paid time of with your protected sick days in order to not get points rackedup. Do get health insurance options with dental, vision, life insurance and 401k.
Overall decent comprehensive benefit package, generous paid vacation after long employment. Quality of health benefits has decreased over time.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
