The worst thing was that if you wanted your significant other on your insurance and they have a comparable plan elsewhere you would have to pay extra because of that. This didn't include dental or vision. The benefits package was pretty great with 401K match, employee stock purchasing programs, short term disability and long term, health insurance with options if you wanted to do a flex spending account. I thought the benefits were fantastic. The maternity leave isn't paid, but you can buy short term disability to use during leave, which you just discussed with HR and your supervisor to decide the length of. They also gave us free lunch once a week, free breakfast once a week, and for department meetings we'd have free lunch.
The best part is the employee stock purchase plan.
NewLink Genetics offers an employee stock purchase program (ESPP).
They have the works but the insurance is $2500 deductible, no HSA. A wellness program, employee stock options. Very good to their employees, benefit-wise
