Salary often below comparative offers within the area. Especially for preschool teachers, expect Elementary School level work paying a daycare level salary.
The 401K matches employees' contributions. There are 4 levels of Health care and other benefits. The worst is the vacation and holidays. There's no vacation for the first year, then 5 days after 2 years, then 10 days after 3 years. I have only had 1 week off, paid in three years. And I'm admin. Be prepared to work long hours, like 10 to 12 hours days. But you'll earn overtime.
Paid time off does not start for 90 days. Employee childcare discounts were changed around 2011, meaning the benefit can be reduced or eliminated based on how the annual budget is written. Real professional training is lacking for the preschools and most others don't seem to have a comprehensive plan to grow their staff. Even if entitled to benefits, if it isn't convenient for a regional director, an excuse isn't uncommon.
They claim to offer paid time off, but there is no explanation as to why your accrued vacation time ends up being much less than 40 hours a year. They do not let you take unpaid days off, but only have 3-4 days of vacation a year, unless you have been with the company for 5+ years. No personal days, and they only offer 3 sick days a year.
In the education industry it is typical for benefits to start as the teaching job begins. This is the worst and most expensive health care I have ever received. No sick days or any options for health care for 3 months, then outrages costs when finally offered. 2 Skin creams I previously received for $20, and $10 were $400 and $600 through this plan. Ridiculous. Truly a stingy company that could not care less about their employees and is only concerned about the bottom line. No personal days are even offered.
Could be more cost effective.
Thoughtful and well rounded benefits selection
I did not have any issues with the benefit package. It was affordable for a single person. The family package was high and the teachers made way less money and their package was 3x what management made.
No benefits for part-time employees
There are options for Health Insurance depending on how much you want to pay each month.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
