If you have an Illinois Educator License and are salaried, you are required to participate in the Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund. Each pay period, 9% of your salary automatically goes into the pension plan. Noble covers 7%; you’ll contribute the remaining 2%.

You must be certified to participate in the pension.
Somehow tied to CPS pension plan which makes it confusing to understand how your contributions are being held and how your future is impacted by it.
This is the CPS Pension Fund, which is not in good shape at all do to bad financial practices.
If you are a certified teacher you will be required to contribute 2% to the Chicago teacher pension plan, the network will contribute 7%. There is no way to opt out of the pension.
