There are many options for health care and benefits that include transportation. There is a good 401K, but teachers with a license have to the Chicago Teachers' Pension.
There were only 5 days off during my time there, but this was raised to 8 days.

It really is very competitive and very good. My husband works in corporate America and we still choose to use my benefits package over his. It is flexible, there are a lot of options, and our HR reps are super accessible and knowledgeable.
From what I hear, the insurance is pretty solid (I'm not enrolled yet). We only get 5 PTO days, which is tough.
TIme off days are use them or lose them which is somewhat frustrating, because as a teacher days can be hard to use.
