There are many options for health care and benefits that include transportation. There is a good 401K, but teachers with a license have to the Chicago Teachers' Pension.

It really is very competitive and very good. My husband works in corporate America and we still choose to use my benefits package over his. It is flexible, there are a lot of options, and our HR reps are super accessible and knowledgeable.

TIme off days are use them or lose them which is somewhat frustrating, because as a teacher days can be hard to use.
The best thing is the multitude of health care options everything from hmo to a pricier ppo. Also hr team is very helpful with teacher licences.
