Best: 20 vacation days + 2 Personal days + Bank Holidays; Work Remote 2/month; Relaxed workpace; 4%/year in pension; Company matches 401K 1:1 upto 6% Worst: Risk-averse management in technology; Most technical managers are not role-models; Even average technical person becomes a superstar.
The benefits package is very robust with plenty of options and flexibility. It can be a bit unwieldy at times given the numerous options. That said, employees are not left wanting for basic benefits. While the company is not like many startups with unique perks, they do a fantastic job of making sure their employees are well cared for and have what they need.
The worst things about the benefits package are that it does not offer an HMO medical plan option and all available medical/dental/vision plans require additional monthly contributions from employees in addition to the employer's contribution.

Very comprehensive benefits a great place
This company has a great working culture.
The offer the spectrum of benefits and it is very organized. Top of the line health care, insurances and matching available.
Northern Trust has a great benefits package. The vacation and holiday schedule allows for a great work/life balance
Best: thing is minimum 3 weeks vacation for everyone. Also good is number of paid holidays and sick time. Insurance is good. Unfortunately when they implemented the 3 wk vacation for new hires, the people who had been there over 5 years and just earned 3 wks, did not get any extra time, they were equal to new hires.
Generous paid time off, but it is segmented between vacation, personal, sick, and emergency days. 401K with 3% match if you contribute 6% and a pension plan. Health care is more expensive than other employers, but there are multiple options that can help to reduce cost if you're willing to use a high deductible plan or an insurer with a much smaller network.
