The benefits package was one of the best I've ever received. Not very many companies offer a pension but this one does. There are also discounts to local amusement parks, museums, restaurants, and events. There are also some occasional offers for a discount on the price you pay to get your taxes done, cell phone service, electronic purchases, etc. Dependent and Child care offered. Some or most branches have a personal gym for employees. 401k is about average with every company. Vacation time is great. It's not all lumped up into PTO time with sick and personal time. You have separate time off banks for each - vacation, sick, and personal. You even get a yearly performance bonus.
Confusing admin, completely outsourced, hard to get to a human in-house staffer
10 official bank holidays plus 20 days (4 weeks) vacation, separate sick days you can use if your kids are sick. 2 additional "personal days" you can use however you want. Overall generous paid time-off but that's because the banks are the most generous generally compared to other industries. Not much education reimbursement, you're on your own pretty much if you're a student. Health insurance little pricey but on-par with industry competitors. Average/decent 401K match, dollar-4-dollar up to 3% iirc. If you get lucky, you can get on a team that does 50% work from home which is nice as it sucks riding the CTA or Metra downtown every day to sit in beige, noisy cubicles and fluorescent lighting. For all this you get a generally lower base salary and bonus than you could at other banks.
