Good coverage, 2 prescriptions that would have costed 800/month were only 10/ month on the insurance program
Expensive to go to our own ED.
Onslow Memorial Hospital takes really good care of the employees with a great benefits package. You begin to accrue PTO day 1, you can begin using it after 30 days and you can also sign up for healthcare upon hire. The healthcare is very reasonably priced and we have a very good deductible.
The health insurance is very affordable to buy. Only 26.16 is taken out per paycheck for the employee. I believe it's 52.46 to add a spouse and around 116 for the family plan. This includes dental and a vision plan that pays for an eye exam and a 150 rebate on either frames or contacts. Their base salary is low but for those that need insurance, the great benefits definitely make up for it. Their retirement plans aren't as good as they used to be, but they are on par with other area hospitals.
Average Benefits with retirement plan match.
The biggest issue most had was the change they made to insurance plans. Spouses who are employed could no longer be covered under the employers insurance plan. Bonuses were scare for lower employees and taking paid time off was difficult.
Onslow offers medical coverage for employees, however, the HR staff have no prior education in benefits
Great insurance with low premiums and exceptionally low deductibles. Provide a more than fair amount of PTO and also allows you to cash out the PTO you have in excess of 80 hours with only a 10% penalty. Life insurance, long term disability, and Accidental Death paid for by hospital. HR department very knowledgeable.
