“Maternity Leave is too short.”
“Work from home works just fine as long as the things are getting done.”
“pretty OK HSA, but co-payment”
Opower benefits were pretty great.
Needs to work on maternity leave policies to be competitive with other companies.
You can have access to a lot of coupons when working at Opower and the work environment is excellent. I missed my time there!!!! Highly recommended!!!
Liberal Work From Home policy, Good Insurance, Comfortable Office, Snacks, Transportation Benefit, RSUs, but no 401K match at all which has always been a problem.
Technical Account Manager
Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?
Best = unlimited PTO, kitchen, massages Worst = no 401K match
No 401K. Unlimited PTO, although this will change with Oracle acquisition.
Opower's benefits package is great! They just recently implemented unlimited PTO and increased primary secondary caregiver leave to 16 weeks of fully-paid leave. There's no 401k match offered, but they do offer a high-deductible plan with an employer contribution into a health savings account. Other awesome perks are free snacks, casual atmosphere, etc!
Great on snacks, lunch on Friday. Decent maternity leave and unlimited PTO. No 401K match
Opower has fantastic benefits -- snacks, unlimited PTO, strong parental leave, frequent office lunches and social gatherings, a casual work environment overall, parking and mass transit benefits, good health and dental, and employee equity. 401k match would be a nice add, but is incremental to the rest.
bad: no 401k match, good: equity options
