Health insurance is nothing special or different from any other big company.
pretty standard package for contractors and full time employees alike
Great benefit programs if perminate employee
That there is one. Some benefits are better than none. The worst thing is that there are different and better benefits for actual PAE employees than for contractors. While contractors are a profit center they are treated like they have the plague.
The best thing about their benefits is they had options that met or exceeded my spouses plan. The worst thing was the open period did not line up with other companies open period so I had to often choose my package prior to knowing if my spouse package would have been more complimentary to my family situation.
Makes it possible for those fortunate enough to be granted full time status to leave behind the hoops and scrutiny of subsidized healthcare.
The benifits are competitive with other contract companies. They match up to 8% of 401k. Time off is earned by hours work so it can be months before taking a vacation.
The pay is very comparable for this area. As the Lead I do have extra duties but I have the assistance of 4 other gentlemen to help. The insurance is good except there is a process that you have t go through for certain medications that is rather tedious.
The pay was not that great, not enough vacation time. Hours were good. I did not use insurance. 401k contribution was minimal.
Work is at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. Good wages and paid medical. Offers 401K but does not match. Sequestered for 8 months. Bonus at end of winter. Your experience will depend on you and how you deal with the extreme cold and seemingly eternal darkness. I enjoyed it.
