Sick time and vacation time are separate. The company pays out vacation time to some employees, but not in Oregon.
I always had some hours for sick time
we now have more paid holidays
Paid time off and vacation is only usable in advance, with permission, and permission is rarely given unless asked for a month in advance. PTO is also used for holidays, so there is no actual holiday pay.
Lots of leave offered to employees
PenFed has PTO. Federal holidays are rolled into PTO. You must take PTO for Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.
Weird system, lot of people losing hours. Lot of people forced to work holidays for coverage.
They are closed twice a year...thanks giving and Christmas. The other holidays are given as personal days. But you need to schedule those months in advance. Unlike most financial institutions, they do not follow the federal reseve holidays.
PenFed is only closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving. While you are given extra leave days, all other holidays are worked days. You will not be able to take each holiday off though in most departments. Management level employees receive different leave plan than other employees
