Time off is fairly generous at two weeks vacation and one week of personal time with one year's experience. Using it is straightforward as well.
The best thing is that you can take a test to see if you are a smoker or not. If you are not a smoker your insurance goes down by 50%

Vacation was accrual rather than loaded at the beginning of the year and this could make it difficult to take time off at the end of the year. Health insurance seemed really expensive and probably could have gotten a better deal using the exchange.

Benefits seem to be shrinking as time goes on. Salaries are stagnant and benefits are becoming minimal. For some reason people continue stay so the company is doing something right.

The PPO plan for a family is expensive and the 401k match varies from year to year(0-4%). After paying for health, dental and opting for the 401k, there isn't much left on a lab technician salary/hourly wage.
