You have to sign up for 'disability insurance' upon being hired... as you are not eligible to join after 30 days or so of employment. If you don't sign up for the insurance, and you suddenly find out you're pregnant you're left high and dry without an income.
They were generous with time off, and let me start back working part-time when I returned. However, no paid maternity/paternity leave.
