there were little or no benefits to speak of but, bare-bones pay and asking for more salary was liking asking for their first born.no sick paid time was offered, no vacation accumulation the only thing they offered was in investing in a self-directed ira they did some matching but, that is only because they get a governmental tax break for doing so otherwise that would probably not be offered

These benefit packages are too expensive to pay for when you have other bills as well. The vision and Dental are fine. The flex spending card is also a very Good idea.
