The time off and benefits package is great!
You are able to take part in medical, dental, and vision.
The time is very flexible. Even payment is not really high, it is a joyful experience working as a peer tutor at Penn State.
Decent health, dental, and optical insurance. Everything else was what you'd expect from an employer of graduate students.
Amazing 401k option. You give 5%, they give 9.3%
Good graduate student health insurance (not sure if its the same for other employees), covers dental and vision too. Got free glasses every year with vision care. Dentist one has low maximum.
Penn State offers excellent benefits including tuition funding, healthcare and retirement benefits that far surpass most corporate benefits. Frequently these can make up for the salary differential between higher ed and the private sector. Huge value if you have a family or are planning to earn a degree.
Amazing benefits that are valued
Very low wage compensation for graduate student assistants. Decent health insurance though.
Best thing are generous and affordable health insurance as well pension plan. Plenty of PTO and sick leave are given as well.
