Used to be more of an option but now not really.
Working from home was great when projects ran smoothly. However, the work from home benefit was extremely challenging when overtime was required on projects. Then, the work/ life balance leaned hard on the work side on more occasions than imaginable. Off normal work hours were required, including middle of the night, weekend, and holiday work. Most often, overtime was nearly impossible to get compensated for even with the direct managers requests.
