It's really a generous offering, but it is so difficult to get it approved. That and there are many blackout dates that you must work on, like around Christmas.
PTO is the same as it is everywhere. I got almost three weeks every year but there was a 2-3 month period where district managers would forbid people from taking PTO because of the holiday shopping season.
Petco gives the lots of PTO.
Only management gets more than a week of pto.... It's not worth it for anyone else unless you've upper management
It's decent. It's based on how many hours you worked up to 18 days PTO I think. Does not roll over, use it or lose it.
You get great vacation benefits at petco
I got two weeks paid the first year, which was awesome, three weeks by my third year with them. They are very generous with PTO. The biggest problem is that you are never allowed to use it, and it doesn't roll over. I had to often wait until my PTO was about to expire and then TELL THEM I WAS TAKING IT, even though I had requested little bits throughout the year, my last year with them they wound up giving me over two weeks off at once. This inconvenienced my coworkers, as many of them had to work overtime to cover my hours. They should have been more generous at giving me my time off when I had requested it, a few hours here, a few hours there. Always denied. THEN, I had TWO managers tell me not to worry it would roll over. Perhaps management's PTO rolls over. STAFF PTO does NOT roll over. You lose it if you don't use it, and they never let you use it. Great that they offer it, and it is generous, but, you'll probably never get to use it. ALSO, remember there are black out dates you CAN NEVER USE YOUR PTO. For me it was October to April. Then when I requested time off in June it was denied because we had inventory to prepare for, then when I requested after inventory I was denied because a coworker quit.
Very similar to other retail competition
So far so good, word is out they may reduce paid time off to save expences
Vacation and PTO were amazing.
