PTO is in one bucket to be used for personal, sick, or vacation. It is a bit stingy as an employee with over 20 years, I only get 27 days of PTO per year. And it must be accrued, as opposed to being given as a lump sum at beginning of new year. Compared to other companies I am aware of, a fairly new employee is given 3 weeks vacation and 2 weeks sick - which is the same amount that QAD gives after 20 years.
If you had the time on the books; you could use it.
It accrues at a fair rate, but can be difficult to actually take your vacation time without getting snide remarks from co-workers and managers.
Accrual for PTO started at 15 days and increased after 2 years.
