Having an on site coffee shop was nice so I didnt have to run out to buy food and drinks if it were a busy day.
Vacation and Healthcare. 401k needs improvement.
401K was kind of disappointing
The best part of the benefits package is the 180 hours, right off the bat, for vacation/sick-time. No separate buckets, and with manager approval unpaid time off is no problem beyond that. 401(k) matching could be better, and the health insurance is the now-standard HDHC. Local businesses do have some employee discounts, and you get a bit of hosting for free. While they provide Tuition Assistance, it is a joke. The tuition assistance wouldn't pay for a single course at any 4-year college, and might barely cover a single course at a community college. The recent change in benefits, have the vision plan's perk of every two-years getting an eye exam, overruled by the health insurance plan providing one every year, and the amount you would pay for vision doesn't compare with the savings you could get not buying direct from the eye doctor. The small gym on-site at the San Antonio, TX Rackspace is pretty decent with several classes, but can get packed quickly at busy times.
Health Insurance is competitive with other large corporations.
Only high deductible plans are offered
Health Insurance for interns is amazing.
Having a gym onsite is one of the best parts, in addition to the free drinks, coffee and the availability of the premium coffee at Groundtown. Benefits change a little each year but seem to be better than average and the PTO structure is pretty solid as well. I've had nothing but positive feelings about the benefits package and don't really feel like anything is missing.
Benefits package is not competitive to most in the industry specifically the healthcare
401k match was the highest out of several other companies but everything else is terrible
