The 401k match is excellent; health insurance is mediocre, but I don't know if it's any better anywhere else.
Standard: health care, dental, 401(k) (which used to include bonus contributions), flex hour schedules, 2 weeks vacation to start (which unfortunately is now also your sick time).
Recently added parental leave is a great benefit, however the medical insurance coverage has been going up in price and down in quality
The 401k matching is good, they will match 6%. BBN puts in 10% of your gross income if you contribute 5% of your gross income as well. The tuition assistance is great, they pay 100% up front, no cap. Only stipulation is you maintain a B+ GPA and stay for 1 year after graduation. A new degree also gets you a raise, usually. 3 weeks of PTO, 12 holidays, including 1 week off, paid, Christmas-New Year's. That being said, since being bought by Raytheon, any and all of this is on the chopping block every year. We switched to their health insurance (United) vs BCBS, which is a serious downgrade. We used to have unlimited sick time, now it's rolled into vacation (PTO). I would imagine 401k and tuition are on Raytheon's radar for elmination.
The best thing about working for BBN is all of the amazing people you get the opportunity to work with. Everybody brings something different to the table. Also, everybody understands that new employees need some time to adjust to the company.
6% 401k matching is pretty nice
generous 401k package given to employees
Benefits are pretty decent. PTO (vacation + sick time) starts at 15 days (plus holidays) and increases every 5 years. Something that's come in handy is free admission to the Boston Museum of Science and the MFA!
I am an intern and thus do not get a full benefits package.
Cons: Great benefits are going away now that they are getting completely integrated with Raytheon
