    I had more paid time off per year at previous jobs, and personal/sick/holiday time were accounted separately. Annual rollover has become more limited, probably to reduce potential payout burden on termination.

    It's hard to take PTO given how busy things are at Red Hat, but PTO allowances are generous. Recent changes to the PTO policy include not allowing PTO to roll over, but the annual shutdown at the end of December is now treated like a federal holiday (e.g. does not count toward annual PTO and is fully covered by the company), which essentially adds a "free" additional week of vacation.
